Here are images of some of the students' illustration projects done in Glen Orbik's Gouache: From Head Painting to Picture Making class. Students start from photo shooting, color thumbnails to finished paintings. It is a great class to learn how to take an illustration or painting from start to finish.
This class will start on April 15th. Sunday from 5 to 9pm.

Dynamic Sketching - New class by Gary Meyer !!!

We have a new class Dynamic Sketching by Gary Meyer in our Fall term starting Jan. 9th, 2012.

Class description:

This course consists of lectures, demonstrations and painting. The instructor demonstrates the rendering of various objects, landscapes, seascapes, city scapes and costumed figures in acrylic paint. The students paint based on principles discussed in class.

New!!! Glen Orbik "From Gouache Head Painting to Picture Making"

Great news!!! Glen Orbik and Laurel is teaching a new class at 3Kicks, "From Gouache Head Painting to Picture Making".

Description
From conception to finish, a comprehensive class. Gouache, used opaquely for finished illustration, is also an excellent training tool for oil and other mediums (even digital).

Beginning with a strong emphasis on the Head, instructors will also demonstrate & guide the students through the step by step procedures of Picture Making. The process will include the use of Photography (lighting & directing models), Composition, Thumbnails, and Color Roughs to craft better Story-Telling , all the way though to the finished portfolio piece. This fundamental procedure is applicable to both illustration & gallery work.

Students will work from photographs. For the beginning to advanced painter, previous tonal Head Drawing highly recommended. Instructor approval.

Hi all,

Our spring term schedule is out!!! Please check out the new workshops we have for this term. We have Steve Huston doing a drawing workshop on April 30th. Tim Tien is doing 2 still life workshops at 3Kicks as well. The still life workshops will involve both indoor and outdoor painting. Gary Meyer is back doing a creative perspective class. We are accepting enrollment now, sign up early!!!
